Just wondered if I would fail an MOT coz I have my amp on top of my spare wheel! (and not bolted down..just rests on top)!
I know they need to check the spares condition but I've had the amp there less than a year so not sure about MOT!

Mine went through 2 MOTS with the Amps above them .. they were on a hinge so the tyre could be easily accessed ...

The spare isn't technically part of the MOT, if you're concerned, take the spare out before you go, if it's not there it can't be checked. You don't have to have a spare.

no you will be fine. Most places will not even check this area anyway. Unless they have not seen the car before in which case your front will be check to see there is no engine there!

Sorry to put a spanner in the works but my old car failed the mot as they couldnt get the boot tray lifted to check the spare. They were a picky bunch of b@stards though and I switched garages soon after.

A spare is not required for an MOT, so in theory it should not fail!!
