It is intended to be an opportunity for the various internet performance cars clubs to “step away from the keyboard” and settle some old scores at the place that our cars should be pushed – the Racetrack !

The rules are fairly simple :

Roll cages are allowed – not mandatory

Road legal dot marked tyres

Any suspension mods allowed

Any braking mods allowed

Any engine mods allowed – However :

NA must stay NA
Forced Induction must use standard turbine housing - can be modified
No NitrousOxide
110db Noise Limit

The dates and venues are :

Round 1 - May 28th (Sun) Rockingham
Round 2 - June 17th (Sat) Silverstone (National)
Round 3 - July 2nd (Sun) Rockingham
Round 4 - August 20th (Sun) Silverstone (National)
Round 5 - September 17th (Sun) Rockingham
Final - October 1st (Sun) Silverstone (National)

It's the new craze in Japan after drifting, so am not surprised they are trying to set it up here!!

Should be very good fun.

Subject to costs and dates etc, I'd be happy to bring an n/a race car.

...unless I wouldn't be allowed in anything but the tuner class? :-k

Just wondering how this wont just be another tuner show case where they battle it out to prove who is best? Organisers just make a wedge from the resulting DVD, entry, advertising etc?

Looks totally awesome, though I think you'd need something special to stand a chance in that, having looked at the line up of cars. 1000bhp supra, 800bhp evo, 206 WRC car!!! 8)

There will be different catagories. I think it will eventually be like the Tskuba Challange they hold in Japan each year which has loads of catagories for difference types of car dependant on drivetrain, make, model, engine type, street legal etc etc...

Exactly, it won't be comparing a 1000bhp skyline with an NA MR2  It will be comparing like with like, e.g. 2 litre NA engine vs same I should think.

Think alot of the rules for the car regs are beyond your average Joe. So another tuner show down then

I really like the idea behind this, but the financial side of things will probably put many people off; which may be done purposely to oust the McDonalds carpark crew and to get some more interesting cars on the circuits.

Spectating would be interesting, though.
Mk2 NA Rev1 -*- Mk2 Turbo Rev2 -*- Mk1 NA -*- Mk2 Turbo Rev 3 = all gone!

As far as I can see its the usuall stuff except there's no restrictions on engine or handling moddifications.

As far as the cost is concerned... well all competative motorsport is expensive, so this will be too! If you have the coin then get in the race!
