Post by Fonzy »

since i installed the new engine i noticed it wobbles quite alot! i have up graded to trd font and back mounts and left the originals on the sides, i have checked all the bolts , but the engine still wobbles far too much! any reasons for this? anyone experienced the same?

If the engine mounts are uprated then you will get more vibration from the motor - tho it shouldn't 'wobble' all over the place.... in my Escort I upgraded from standard rubber mounts to world cup mounts and it shakes yer fillings out! Personally I wouldn't uprate engine mounts in a road car.

Up rating the side mounts is what usually transmits the engine vibration into the chassis, front and back don’t tend to transmit any vibration.

Fonzy, you could always try filling the TRD mounts with polyurethane. Machine mart sell Everbuild polyurethane 40 in a tube which you can use to fill the mounts with. I am filling mine this weekend. Basically turns the mount into a solid mount. Might help?
