Power steering should have a light come up on the dash too mate. Under the bonnet on the passerger side there should be a resevoir and a couple of black boxes (ecu and control unit).

ABS, again under the bonnet but on the drivers side this time, in front of the master cylinder there will be a big lump with all the pipes going into it and a few wires too (what a lousy description that is #-o ). Also sensors coming from the hubs.

One way to find out is to drive the car normally then in a car park or somewhere out the way turn the ignition off (not so the steering lock comes on though) and while freewheeling along try making a few turns. If you need forearms like popeye all of a sudden then you have got power steering if no difference to normally driving then you aint. Simple, but be carefull your brake servo won't be working either so watch the anchors matey.

It doesn't matter how strong you are the difference between having the power steering on and with it off is so obvious you can't fail to notice.

Unless you have no sensitivity whatsover in your upper body? ;)

Do what alfieambra says. Or simply turn the wheel lock to lock whilst the car is standing still. Do this without the engine running, then try it with the engine running, if there is a difference it will be glaringly apparent.

I kind of can't believe it isn't obvious!

If it was broken you would find the steering an absolute pig to manage.

So if thats the case then you haven't got it by the sounds of it.

You could also look in the engine bay and see if you have a power steering pump which will be another pulley. Sorry don't know where it is on teh 3SGE lump.

wtf!! another pulley for the PS pump on a mid engined car? thats a LOOOOOOOOOOONG belt :clown: :-s

the ps is located under the FRONT bonnet, and is electric not pulley driven.... and you will have to lift up the space saver and trim to find the filler cap.....

Well i thought a pump driven system is hydraulic in operation, so didn't reason as to why not it couldn't run from the engine bay IYSWIM.
