just wondering what your thoughts are on my mr2, quite a rare one never seen one in black before, shes almost 100% rust free just the front arches which are getting abit niggly

I've always liked black on small sports cars Hoping to do mine when I move house in about 3 weeks time. For the first time in my life I will have a full sized workshop with a concrete floor. Make a change from working in old farm buildings with a cow-poo floor!

I've always liked black on a mk1,shame they didn't make more!
Good looking car,hopefully you will look after it and get it along to some shows.
A Black mk1 one best in show at JAE on the mk1 club stand last year,or the year before,can't remember but it was a fine example!

I like black ones - see a few now. is yours a tin top? if so then i agree that this is rare.
Looks nice - apart from having the same rust probs as everyone else. (mine included)

I like black, also tin tops both just for their uncomoness (wont say rare it's getting too overused) I'm getting the urge for gold wheels and pinstripes and some JPS logo's

sorry by saying matted i meant that the finish of the paint is matt or dull but certainly not the same as teh car!!!

Stripes (photoshopped or not) really have to go.. I'm getting a little bit of sick just looking at it

The car itself is nice - I have always liked black uns but a shame they stopped making them when they did. I prefer dark blue (either 8e3 or the rarer one) as it can look black-ish, goes purple under garage forecourt lights and of course is metallic and shiny. A bu88er to keep clean (but then black is worse).

Gun Metal grey (mentioned above) looks great though - I have never seen a real one only pictures but a metallic dark grey is brilliant on the mk1.

you say just the fronts going but the rear "triangles" look as if they have rust too? give it a couple of years they will be gone (mine have). My original jap import SC that got smashed up had mint arches and I miss it (cept it was auto).
