One thing from an insurance point of view

I have a good quote on an MR2 G-Limited

This car doesn't seem to say G-Limited however its not a turbo i.e. GTS so should I still insure this as a G-Limited ?

Thats because it is a UK car, therefore G-Limited doesn't exist in England only Japan. Thats why the car is a GT.

Well it's got the rear bumper from an import

I'd go for the rev3 though, only £1000 more for it being 3 years newer :)
I'd check for accident damage where the exhaust is and under the boot carpet just incase it is a UK car with a new rear bumper :?

Not really helpful for the question posted though.

Its definitely an import - my only concern is because it doesn't have a G-Limited badge on the back what do you say it is to the insurance company

I have a quote of 1100 with a ban and I'm 31
for a GT-Limited

Insurance companies only seem to recognise 2 imports the GT-Limited and the GTS i.e. Turbo

All other cars i.e. GT is classed as a UK car, but if i tell them its a GT but an import they'll say we don't quote for that it doesn't exist.

Well I'm hoping the insurance have answered my question for me :)

I just phoned them and they said:

My quote is for an MR 2 G-Limited Import

They have quotes available for and MRT GTS and and MR2 G Turbo both imports

The only thing they have as an MR2 GT is the UK model

So they said take a look at the log book and whatever model it says on there they will insure it as that.

Agreed, GT is UK, but the picture of the car suggests import (square number plate and AC) so either the seller thinks it's a GT, or they are advertising it as one to fool people into thinking it's a UK car to get more money?!?! :alien:

just have this niggling thought that if I rip out the wiring, then the car will never get out of the garage again.

Still in the garage...

Does the log book say its an import? If its listed as a UK car on the log book but it has a Jap rear bumper that would suggest a rear impact.
