Replacement Door rubbers

Post by TUR80 »

Has anyone on the site replaced their door top window rubbers. Mine have seen better days they have gone of colour instead of the original shiny black. I sprayed them with a bumper paint for ridgid plastics, but it has started to flake on one side.

I realise this will be expensive to replace, has anyone done this, and has an idea of cost? Are they difficult to take off and fit?

Mine have gone the same way, Toyota probably want something like £50 a side :lol: You can get both sides from the states for $120 plus shipping

Thats a little over £60 which isn't bad are you sure thats for the pair? If thats the case do you have the contact. Still also need to know how difficult they are to fit.

http://www.partsdiscountwarehouse.com Can't see fitting being that difficult, have you actually phoned a UK Toyota garage to see how much they want ? You never know they mightn't be to expensive, though i somehow doubt it.

Cheers Joey, It was some time ago when I had a quote for the same problem with a UK MR2 I use to own, can't remember the exact figure but I'm sure it was £70-100 each plus VAT and fitting it was around near £300!! =;

These type of cost don't surprise me from Toyota. A friend of mine ordered a badge for his Ferrari, the '355' logo and it cost £9 quid! How cheap? Now I can bet a Toyota tailgate badge would cost more! Toyota seem generally VERY expensive when it comes to trims, moulds and body parts exterior or interior. In my experience very similar to BMW and Mercedes. :roll:

Japanese cars I think are no longer the cheap cars they use to be. :x
