TRD number 8 in Newhaven
Good to meet you mate, shame about the weather, would of been nice to have a proper look over it.

Re: TRD number 8 in Newhaven
Yeah good to meet you mate
- yeah the weather was shocking.
Ah well hopefully you will get chance next year at one of the meets.

congratulations on the new car, i spotted your trd 2000gt in banzai mag, i bought your mk2 turbo off you so technically i helped fund it! you'll be glad to know your old cars still running well.![]()

Hi Stephen

Did you sort out the door?

I noticed the car got spotted on mr2oc awhile back.

2000gt
yeah i got the door all sorted and just gave her a new battery last week.
i'm becoming best mates with the tyre shop
- it freakin' eats tyres! do you know if its ever had a 4 wheel alignment done? i think it needs rear camber adjusters and a 4 wheel alignment to sort out the rear end and hopefully make my tyres last more than 5 minutes.
how's the new car going, it must be sweet to drive? 500bhp thats just crazy

Re: TRD number 8 in Newhaven
Yeah Im sure I had a full alignment done when I put the proxies on.

It was only
£30 so im pretty sure they did it.
Might be wrong tho.

New car is going well mate
- sad to say it's not the 500bhp version.
Was slightly mislead by that tbh.

Still nevermind it's still a great car and seriously quick.
It handles so so nice and even in the wet.

I might look next year at the power
- if all the internals are done then it may be just a case of sticking in a bigger turbo, injectors etc.
But tbh I want a car that I can drive not just for drag racing.

The car has had imense amounts of money poured into it so Im not complaining but obviously was absolutely gutted when i found it out wasn't those figures.

Re: TRD number 8 in Newhaven
bit of a shame its not the big power you expected but its still a damn fine car, new turbo etc would be nice and handy for some bolt on power if the internals were already up to the task.
i'll do you a swap if you find you miss the
'old' mr2 too much!
i'd really quite fancy upgrading the suspension on the turbo but i'll have to be saving up the pennies cos it sure isn't cheap, hopefully it'd make the ride a little smoother.
is your brother still in his mr2?

Re: TRD number 8 in Newhaven
Whats wrong with the suspension at the moment mate? You looking to get coilovers?

Yeah Phil has his 2 still
- still enjoying it.
He just wants to get some rims for it now.

Yeah Phil has his 2 still

suspension
yeah wouldn't mind some coilovers when i win the lottery, i'm assuming that the shocks are still the originals
(16 years old) and it was just lowered on springs so i'd imagine that with shocks to match the lowering springs it would handle/grip/respond better.
the gators are screwed too so the shafts and seals are exposed to the elements at present too, easily fixed i know, itas just getting round to it.
going to get my camber sorted out after xmas
- i'm sure thats why the tyres are wearing so fast.

Re: TRD number 8 in Newhaven
Yeah not sure if they are the original shocks.
All i know is that it had TRD springs.

I must admit though, I didn't notice the tyre wear.
How long after you brought it did the tyres last??

If it makes you feel any better I brought the TRD with brand new tyres
(apparently) and after 1000miles I had to put new ones on the rears lol.

Got goodyear f1's on at the moment to see what they are like.
Though I don't drive it much so hopefully will last quite awhile.

tyres
i just had my second set put on today since i bought it from you at the beginning of october! i reckon its probably doing 2000 miles on a pair of rears without thrashing it, not that i care
- its definitely worth it but i'll hopefully get that sorted out in the new year.
anyway matey i think you need to be getting some pictures of that sweet 2000GT on here so i can have a better look! are you using it as your everyday car or do you have a separate runaround car now?
