A build/rebuild spreadsheet

Post by MegatronUK »

Anyone else kept a detailed record like this for a build/rebuild of their motor? I've never done so in the past... probably because I didn't want to know how much I spent on the cars  ... but this time I'm going to try and keep a detailed spreadsheet with the cost of every single part I buy.

Should be interesting to see how much a mk1 turbo costs to put on the road, including buying the car itself! Either that or I'll depress myself with how much it costs as it spirals out of control with MORE and MORE power, giant brakes, etc

I kept a detailed spreadsheet on my last tubby that included everything from insurance payments, upgrades, tyres, fuel, etc, even down to minor stuff like air fresheners and the like.

Staggering reading after a while - it's amazing how much money we all spend/waste on our MR2s!
Mk2 NA Rev1 -*- Mk2 Turbo Rev2 -*- Mk1 NA -*- Mk2 Turbo Rev 3 = all gone!

Hi,

I am keeping a list of all the bits I have bought for my tubby rebuild.....

It's working out about 1k at the moment...the car cost 2k. So not bad all in all for a nice new (uprated) engine at the end of it ;)

Paul.

Thats my worry!

I think the costs for the Escort starting getting into that kind of area, but I wasn't too bothered because I hadn't got anything written down that said "You have sunk X thousand pounds into this car" !!!

Oh well, lets see how it goes!
