oh yes, please don't think i was knocking your car at all bud, it was a good performance, best of the day i believe :)

I wasn't that impressed with the way that rolling road day was done as you pointed out, we agreed upon that on the day.

I was just confused to why the most of the cars dyno'd elsewhere were withing 10-15bhp but the cars dyno'd at thor were almost 50 bhp down as i have no doubts that your car would make 300bhp hubs with the modifications you have on there. Like i said it wasn't a dig just confused but i haven't seen the post from nod that explained this.

Also the cars running weren't mine they were just some customer cars that i know very well :)

Hope to see you again "dangerous" at future some rolling road days :D

Hear you are bud this is what was said.......

I was'nt having ago either....(I went back over to Thor and said exactly the same as you about the difference in readings - I would be pi$$ed if my car was only 300@fly after spending 2.5k on the engine etc!!!!)

Well I just spoke to nod@thor and he reckons the dyno reading is all over the place (does look like mine was spinning up and hitting boost cut) therefor the the given reading on my dyno chart can be classed as INACURATE because of the lack of boost pressure measurment at the given peak power out put (he also said that mine was 300 @fly at 1Bar according to their figures

I'm not sure about the hitting of boost cut as that would be a much more a violent spike. It is far more likely your car was spinning up and causing him problems so he part throttled it so he could complete the run. The other plot with the weird end shaping is pure roller break away as that's the same effect our Dynapack exibites when you hit a boost limiter or suffer clutch slip as the holding torque is reduced to compensate for the sudden lack of applied torque.

He also said he saw 300rwhp at thor's dyno, but couldn't managed 300bhp fly on this one.

Just out of interest how accurate is thor's dyno? i mean ever car i see put on there rollers always comes up with a very high power figure compaired to when the same car is dyno'd elsewhere. :?

If you would care to read the thread that Nod posted about last sundays rolling road i'm sure it will enlighten you more on the topic of the rolling road day... As I'm sure we actually agreed in conversation while the dyno operater was dyno'ing your lesser powered car (the red one with trust side skirts)we both agreed that it looked like he was letting off the throttle as the rollers started to lose grip.

Dynapack dynamometers are accurate to within 0.01 hp thats why people like the The williams F1 team and the 5th gear T.V show use thors dyno.(if you dont believe me look on thier website !)

Well it was MacLaren actually, but the point is just as valid ;)

I think the main contributing factor that's been missed here is the F-CON, which given the 10.6 AFR (and it still det'd - purple plot, hence the reduced boost), would suggest the ignition advance being chucked in there is huge. I don't know if this was as bought from Japan or mapped here in blighty, but it may explain how this uber power figure may have came about (and the sub zero air temp super chilled by our massive cooling fans).

I did think at the time that the power figure looked a bit iffy, but the LS1 Chevy Cobra I mapped less than 30 mins previous was bang on the expected numbers 320bhp and 364lbs/ft @ hubs (Tubular headers, no cats, optimax, etc).

Sorry I'm late getting into this forum about my previous MR2 Tubby, she's aaaaaallllllliiiiiiivvvvvvvveeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!!! ahhhhhhhhhh! just over 300 beauties!! Thats my girl. I'm glad, as when I use to own her I remembering giving it some beans with a 2005 Audi RS6. Couldn't take the smile off my face when he couldn't shake me off his tail (er..cough...officer) Well and truely felt that he needed to pull over and let me pass!! Probably because I was in his slip stream seeing that he is the size of a small sherman tank! LOL! \:D/

Anyway I'm glad for the news, hope you have lots of fun. I must admit once travelling back from ROGUE SYSTEMS I had my mate take the Tubby back to mine whilst I drove my NOBLE GTO 3R. At one point we both gave it large on the loud pedal up through a steep country lane and felt that I didn't destroy the MR2 with the Noble. Yes I beat it but I really had to use full power to make a point, as my mate was being a bit cheaky. Had to put him in his place, you know what I mean... LOL! [-X

It had been said from quite a few motorheads that my MR2 Tubby seemed very livery almost like a new one, and that the turbo seemed very strong. I hope it continues to do justice!

Cheers mate, TUR80. =D> =D> =D>

At a guess maybe 280WHP. Which is probably around 330FHP, which i'd say is the limit on the CT20B / Optimax combo!

These are similar figures, which both me and Dino got about 2/3 years ago, albeit at slightly more PSI. I remember mine being mapped on a soaking hot day! Made for a lovely drive home with the T-Bars off ;)

Good results.

just that i just saw someone on another thread who has 300 at the hubs, but 235-240 at the wheels......
i would have thought julians car would be the same spec as franks and bry's....both 240whp ish...and i think they were running 1.1bar...
just confused how someone with relatively mild mods could have 40whp more running less boost........
