Power gains through doing the following?Wanting 300 bhp.

Hello all, what will my Rev 2 tubbie be pushing out if i got a:

Apexi air filter
De - cat exhaust + full stainless system
Upgraded Intercooler
FCD
Increased boost.

The reason im asking this is id like 300 BHP, but i might slap NOS on the motor if its pushing out around these figures with the above mods!

If not, would i have to go bigger turbo's, injectors, internals etc etc.

You wont get past 260-270bhp on the stock ct26 i'm afraid.

There are alot of these requests that come through this forum and to assist with these queries we have an excellent garage facility that allows you to set filters on make and model that gives you a list of the number of mods that each car has on it. I bet if you did a garage search and browsed that for 10 mins you would get a very good idea of what is attainable with your car. If you cant be bothered then Im sure someone will be along shortly to help you out. HTH.

yes as mark said you will need a turbo upgrade also the fueling will be on the limit.

A simple hybrid or ct20b will make the 300bhp you are looking for. As i said the standard fueling will be getting close to the limit, but you may get be able to sqeeze some more to just make 300bhp with a good high flow fuel pump and an adjustable fuel pressure regulator to increase the rail pressure for slightly increased flow.

You will also need something to tune the car with, piggy back or standalone, personally if your set at 300bhp fly a piggyback will be ok.

If you think you'll want more in the future go with a standalone that way you can just drop in 540+cc injectors instead of trying to sqeeze the last bits outta the ones you have.

253 RWHP on Al's 1991 GT, 100+ racefuel, 16psi, ct20b, toms panel filter, aussie dp, 3" exhaust, a/f sat flat on 11:1.



Al's is a bit of a freak though, I would have thought his injectors would have been restricting it but nope. He now has a Steel turbine wheeled ct20b from the WRC ST205 so willbe good to see his next dyno sheet....should be able to try with a tad more boost.....see if he can catch me Unless I can get mine tuned before he does his run

There's plenty of fueling left at "300" bhp atf.

I have a standard intercooler, CT20b, Unichip, exhast, Rogue down pipe and increased boost. Intercooler is next, they retarded my timing as knock was evident at full boost on sustained periods of time. IE if I went belting round the M25 at full boost it prob wouldn't do the engine much good.

Made the 300 bhp I wanted, hell it's a piece of paper with a random number but "bar horse power" is what it's all about lol.

That was at 19 psi on a hot day with 97ron Esso petrol after an extensive rolling road set up for the unichip. IIRC it was between 235bhp - 240 bhp atw's.

I reckon cooler day, cooler engine and some Esso Extra Vaule Rocket fuel and it could make more.

Any one see the difference between Ultimate, Optimax and regular on Fifth Gear ? Unreal power differences on a Scooby. Up to 20bhp!

It is but it's all been mapped and checked and the timing retarded to stop it knocking.
As I said if I hold my footdown in 5th at full boost it'll prob cause knock.
But if I did that I'd be doing 150+ bhp and prob die or get banned lol.

Intercooler next up, just need to find a good used one at a reasonable price.
Def not paying extortionate new price for one.
