ahhh

- that's why the black flags were out!

(I thought someone had been over the noise limit already!)
I've always worn my helmet for siting laps

- but I don't think it ever gets mentioned at the briefing.

tbh it sounds like lax bat check/marshall check if that's the way it's supposed to work.

I think they were more worried about the routes that people took through scruitineering in the morning to be honest.

I usually try and ignore the cones as much as pos as they don't usually get replaced throughout the day when someone gets a bit keen!

It's a shame that you all suffered from no siting laps though, as that does give an idea of lines, and grip.

Hope your car(s) aren't too badly off.

I did have a think on the way home about the coolant explosion, and tbh, if the return pipe is blocked in some way, then the cool down lap is exactly then there would be a problem

(i.e.

coolant gets really hot from several quick laps

- starts expanding, and because atmosphere pipe is blocked, builds pressure in expansion bottle.

Start cool down lap, coolant gets even hotter from reduced air flow cooling, more expansion/pressure in coolant leading to enough pressure to force the expansion bottle cap off).
