- I'm afraid I've just seen your post after having set the new poll up. I do take your point about wanting a quick resolution to this. When the Committee discussed this scenario, a further brief election was seen as the fairest way to resolve a tie.
Taking my
'Committee' hat off, my own personal view is I'd be uncomfortable with a result decided by luck alone - I'd rather members made a concious decision to vote for either candidate. Yes, this will take a little extra time, but the result is a 'better quality'. There's no specific deadline we're working towards so I don't see a probem with the additional time it will take to do this.
