OK, as both candidates have agreed, I've just started a new poll which will run for 3 days and close on Thursday.

Rufus - I'm afraid I've just seen your post after having set the new poll up. I do take your point about wanting a quick resolution to this.

When the Committee discussed this scenario, a further brief election was seen as the fairest way to resolve a tie.

Taking my 'Committee' hat off, my own personal view is I'd be uncomfortable with a result decided by luck alone - I'd rather members made a concious decision to vote for either candidate. Yes, this will take a little extra time, but the result is a 'better quality'. There's no specific deadline we're working towards so I don't see a probem with the additional time it will take to do this.

Simon, didn't want to post any more on the elections forum, but I've simply got to pick up on this comment. Please don't be gutted, that's silly!

You can be involved as much as you want. The Club relies on people volunteering to help out. It's simply impossible for the club to run successfully without it.

Take JAE this year for example. Yes, the Admins at the time had to do all the background work, but they needed volunteers to come and help set up and take down, everyone can help!

Ok, Events Admin hat on now. If you want to get involved, find an event locally to you that MR2 Owners might be interested in. (It's difficult in the Winter and the Events Calendar is a bit bare during this period). Post it up and persuade loads of people to go!

Just to put things in perspective, the last event I organised attracted only 4 attendees (3 had to drop out at the last minute, through unfortunate circumstances).

But I tell you what, we had a great day! :D

Heh I already do that for the northwest meet in warington (coming up on the 14th of this month) [/free plug] :-P

As for elections its not the end of the world I know but still a bit of a dissapointment with only 4 votes!
