There is a tie for 6th place between ENSMR2 and Scott Barton, so a decider will be needed.

I'll step down and let the two of them take the positions, they both demonstrated far more enthusiasm that I did :)

Michael - I'm not sure if that comment is tounge in cheek, or you actually mean that you'd like to withdraw now the results are out

As the elections are serious - can you clarify what you mean...?

Cheers,

Ben.

Crikey I was only trying to be nice, now I'm getting a full on interrogation and accused of leading people on for the sake of it!

I put my name forward because I'm willing to do the job at hand (and still am) but I can't help wondering if the others are possibly better placed to do the job based on the enthusiasm shown trying to drum up votes over the last week.

Make of it what you will, I just wanted to be the nice guy for once.

Well, from my pov that's sort of what it looked like.
IMOC members have voted you in, so standing down at the end of the vote makes it look like you don't respect their decision... IYSWIM

Hi Michael,

I guess we just want to be clear where you're coming from, so there aren't any misunderstandings.

I can see you are weighing things up, but I'm still not not crystal clear what you are currently proposing?

Ever wish you'd kept quiet? I know I do!

Ignore my comments about stepping down, furnish my office, hire the secretary and tell me what I need to do.

LoL!

OK, can you confirm my current understanding : You do want to be a Forum Moderator, and are happy to commit to role as defined for the elections.

You can appriciate we need to be completely clear on this as it will have an impact either way on the tie for the one remaining Moderator role.

Cheers,

Ben.

Thankyou, Thankyou all, you've been so great, try the veal :)

It's fantastic news, and it will be great to put something back into the community, obviously my not so subtle hints at voting for me did the trick (but only just ;))

So, whens the club car arrive then 8-[

YES

But I still feel that all those who showed an interest and enthusiasm to move the club forward should be invited to get involved in one way or another.

Ok..so now that is cleared up, how is the final place going to be decided? Let the existing and new modeartors take a vote maybe??

If its any consolation i know two people with an MR2 who do not belong to IMOC, if i can get them to sign up to the site thats another 2 votes for me!

Ps. I have sacked my campaign manager.

Thanks.

For the benefit of those that don't have 20:20 vision ..

Sure - just because you're not a Committee Member or Forum Moderator it doesn't mean you can't contribute to the club - far from it!

If you do hold a Club position, it does mean you have a specific responsibility and committment to the members of IMOC-UK though.

Scott,

The Committee had discussed the possibility of a tie for the last places before the elections.

If you and Enis both agree, what we propose to do is to run a further election between yourself and Scott for the last Forum Moderator position - this election would remain open for 3 days, with no option to re-open nominations as we would do normally.

Are you happy with the above as a way to resolve this?

Cheers Scott :thumleft: I'll just wait for Enis to confirm if he's happy with this arrangement as well.

If so, we'll setup the new Poll.

Looks like you'll have to endure a few more days of suspense ....... ;)

What's wrong with the age old tradition of scissor paper stones for dealing with a tie in last place! Enis and Scott could PM their hand position to Benf.

I personally would find yet *another* election to decide the 6th moderator a bit of a turn off. In a English General Election where two candidates have an equal number of votes then the winner is decided by lot (not by holding another election).

What the hell, be magnanimous and grant an extra moderator position as they were tied in last place and I am sure IMOC-UK would welcome both as moderators with equal enthusiasm! Or would this need to be ratified by the full commitee at the next AGM ;-)
