Interference

Post by Mark Edwards »

I have recently fitted a glass mount internal aerial in my boot. Now it works brilliantly when the engine is off, but makes a terrible noise when the engine is running. Strange thing is, if i pull the power wire and the aerial wire away from the body of the car it shuts up. Any one got any suggestions on how i can solve this?

It's too early for me to answer this properly but you can get an inline filter of some kind to stop this kind of thing I believe.

A lot of interfearance comes from ground loops. Try running a power lead from the battery and an earth from the battery, just on the outside of the car, and see if this solves it? If it does then you can propely wire these in.

Hope this helps!
