Does anyone have this kind of entertainment system?

Post by sms1982 »

Where it's all all in one unit, dvd/(cd)/radio/mp3 and the TFT monitor is located in the passengers sun visor?

I think this'd be really cool to have, I know it'd cost like nearly 1000 quid but it'd be cool so i can give the g/f a break and watch dvd's on her visor than having to hear me babble on like i normally do! :D

And if anyone's got one then what price did you pay and where did you get it from?

Cheers

I had an alpine 1003r a while back... this is an all in one entertaiment package that goes where you stereo fit's... Great piece of kit and i picked it up off ebay for £175 because they said the screen sometime's stuck when opening.... wd-40 sorted it out. Not bad for over a £1000 setup.

I have to say though as good as they are there a bit of a gimmick, i found my self hardly ever using it as most journey's dont warrant a full movie. ( good for watching porn though when your stuck in traffic) passes the time nicley, but tint's are reccomended

Personally i would never buy one again, spend your money on something else, if you must have one though beware of the cheap no name monitor's pictures look awful.. go for a good name brand.. The alpine screen was mint.

Sold it after about 3-4 week's for £400... nice profit

Cheers Spitty!!!

Well as i said mate it wouldn't be for me anyway, it would be for my g/f, I ain't exactly gonna be watching a dvd movie when i'm bombing it down the motorway, that'd be dangerous!

I'd be ok just driving, the car would be enough occupation for me, but then that's because i'm an MR2 madman and have been since i first ever noticed a mark2 on the way to school at the local toyota garage when i was 10 yrs old!!

It's probably a fad the dvd players but they do come in useful for a long journey to keep the g/f occupied!! And the sun visor would be an ideal place to put a screen there, and yeah don't worry the system would be named all the way, no cheap xxxx for me

I have TFTs in my sun visors, both sides. Check out my garage.

I use a Sony Media centre in the car, DVD changer etc. It's pretty sweet :)

DVD/MP3/CD and screens

Hi,

I see you're thinking of fitting a dvd unit. I have them in stock with in dash motorised screens or visor. Have a look at my website nvicars.co.uk and you'll se a typical setup in an MR2.
They're at the bottom of the stock list at the moment. I'm in the process of setting up a separate page with more pics.

No where near a grand !!!!

Cheers
