Help! In the middle of conecting my HU!!

Post by Hurstie1981 »

Hello,

Literally in the middle of wiring up my new Pioneer 6700 but have come accross a problem!
Ive got the right iso connector and have plugged everything else in, except i have a wire from the car with no-where to go on the HU, and im sure its for the electric aerial. This is because when i turn it on the aerial wont go up!
Correct me if im wrong...its black and has a long pretruding metal peice about 2mm in diameter and is approx 2cm long, help anyone?

Thanks!!

Yep, sounds like the aerial.
I thought all headunits had aerial inputs, how else do they pick up :-k

Check carefully at the back of your headunit, and it won't look like a standard socket - but more like just a deep recessed hole.

Well i figured out how to get the aerial up and down and now its all going hunky dory!
I have just left the wire in question, its probably a booster antenna or something!

Thanks for your help!

Perhaps some sort of attenuation wire for a phone kit?

Is this an AM aerial lead? Dont MR2's have two aerials, rear FM one and front AM built into windscreen?
