Newbie - Where are good places to get Mk1 parts from?

Post by jsheathcote »

Hi All.

Can anyone tell me where I can get Mk1 parts from? I know that some stuff can be found on eBay but I'm more interested in suppliers (other than Toyota :P ) where I can but spares, such as the replacement boot lid and ash tray I need up to now.

Anything in or close to the Nottingham area would be great - maybe wishful thinking too.

Are there regular meets and shows with trade stands that sell stuff?

Thanks,

Jay.

There are plenty of places you can get mechanical bits from, brakes, clutches engine bits etc, but the items you describe fall into the 'car specific' hole that isn't well supported. Ebay is your best bet, but please be very careful who you buy from and make sure the quality of items hasn't been overstated. I've had my fingers well and truly burnt.

A few suppliers advertise on the Mk1 club site.

Best of luck

hi jay :D

fensport might be worth a try for body panels and internal trim, they had quite a few engine covers when i visited them a while back.

you will need to recheck, but prices are pretty good.

you would need to pay postage though as they are in cambridgeshire.

check their website out under second hand parts.

Thanks Guys. Just checked out Fensport. £60ish for a boot lid inc spoiler sounds good. At least with that as a reference I'll have a good idea of what to pay for stuff.

I had a hunt around eBay earlier but nothing that I needed turned up but I'll keep looking - always good fun when you can't get out driving :)

Cool! Looks like I'll be attending Donny then :) It's pretty much just round the corner anyway. I'm already planning on getting down to the next club meet at Coalville.

The boot lid I'm looking for is Mica Blue for my Mk1b ('88). Don't really need the spoiler as mine is fine.

Not sure if the Mk1a and Mk1b ashtrays are interchangeable being a newbie, but again that will need to be in blue to match the interior.

Thanks again Guys.

If you do, drop me a wishlist and i'll see what I can do

The ashtrays are totally different between the mk1a and b.
On the a it is in front of the gear lever. On the b it is on the left hand side of the hand brake.
There are many differences on interior between mk1 a's and b's!
In fact very little is interchageable!
