[Mk2] [Turbo] Forge Actuator

My boost solenoid on the AEM truboost failed a while back at a point where I just got sick of the car. It's been a good 12 months since then and have decided it's time to rekindle the love.
As the car has always ran around 1.0 -1.1 bar in boost could I manage to do that on the stock 20b with a forge actuator without need of a boost controller? Would it be safe?

Anyone ran one of these before? Any thoughts?
