Finally got round to doing the front, but of course there's a problem. Here are my nice freshly passivated and coated front tension rods. A pair of right hand side ones!

Went up to the Dales for a week in October. Only managed to break it a little bit once! Nothing serious, just spent more time than I would like with all 4 wheels not touching the tarmac, or anything at all for that matter... The worst damage was to my spine for a few days, and a dislodged exhaust clamp. Won't be doing that again any time soon!

The particularly hawk eyed among you may notice that it has new tyres - Advan AD08R's. Just in time for winter!

Annoyingly the place that fitted them a few days before leaving for Yorkshire did a xxxx job on the balancing, and I only found out on the way to Yorkshire. Loathed to take it back to them tbh, but it needs to be sorted.







Next big day out - Snetterton in a couple weeks, with 2x 2GRFE swapped SW20's, another 3x SW20 Turbo, and a 1MZ Supercharged AW11 MR2. Should be fun!

Are you running more camber at the rear than the front or is it just the pictures that make it look like that?

I must do Snetterton next year!! One of the only tracks I've not done, mainly due to the distance it is from mine!!!

Guess it depends on what they are currently set at? Or run more at the front and leave the rears?

I'm running -2.0 at the front and -1.5 at the rear and its been very stable in the bends.

Its set as negative as it will go at the rear, front is set precisely as it has the camber adjustable top mounts.

It's about -2.0 front and -2.5 rear. I want ~ -2.0 all round ideally.

On the previous setup I had for a very brief period -2 degrees front, and about -0.5 degrees rear. Turn in was very sharp but the rear really lacked grip compared to the front mid corner, and really was not too enjoyable. Was my fault, I'd swapped the subframes and only set toe after, didn't think about camber!

Hyrdaulic issue which has probably caused a mechanical issue as well. Sounds like a spring has failed on the pressure plate, but we won't know until it's all off.

Did you manage to get any laps in before the issue occurred?

3 sighting laps and 3 laps in the morning, rest of the day spent changing components and bleeding the damn thing to no avail.

The friction plate was identical to the one in your pic, so whatever that was. I actually had the same problem on a 200sx too, well it was similar i guess, that part that retains the spring completely sheared. Again that was an exedy.

How do you find AD08r in the rain?

what clutch will you be getting now?

Competition Stage 2 is in, just need to pick it up.

AD08R's are much better than you think in the rain, about in line with your average mid range tyre. Not as good as something like a Michelin Pilot Sport 4 for example, but that's the tradeoff.

I'd have no issue using AD08R's (with good tread) all year round in the southern/mild parts of the UK.
