I have progressive rate springs on my 93 UK car with recent Rev3 turbo swap.
Whilst this was done I also had new front strut inserts fitted and replacement low mileage good condition rear shocks and new top mounts fitted.
Now, as long as I've had progressive rate springs fitted, usually by myself I was always advised to have the tighter wound end of the spring to the bottom cup of the strut.
And tbh this has always seemed to work for me regardless of car I've done this with.
Is this the correct way to fit progressive rate springs or is it generally horses for courses so to speak?
Thanks in advance.
Chris.

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Progressive rate springs, which way up?
the springs, certainly on the mr2 std shock setup are shaped to fit only one way. It's pretty obvious when you see them as the springs fit into the groves on the top of the suspension strut. The two sets I've fitted to my own have had the tighter coils at the top mounts, not the strut mount.
