My passenger window tries to wind down but seems jammed - What would cause this?

It is rumoured that the Mk2 rev 1 had poorer quality loom wiring, and that the 'concertina' between the door and the chassis tended to suffer from damp and stress from continuous opening and closing. It could be the loom is damaged in that area, and you have a break n continuity affecting two of the factions within the door.
