Hi all,

I pulled out my MK1A for a spin today

& all went well except the brake pedal which is very spongy.Car has been under covers in the garage for most of the winter.

Pumping the brakes improves the brake pedal.

Guess I'd better bleed the brakes

& check sliders.

Last time I replaced the brake fluid about 2 years ago I used DOT4.

Car is just used for vintage runs so not too much spirited driving.

Is DOT4 what you use

& is any make recommended.

I've heard people mention silicone fluid but brake system may need to be flushed first to remove all traces of DOT4.

Not sure if that is an option.

What do you recommend?.

Thanks,

Tim
