has anyone taken their rear lights apart? basically I'm wanting to give the lenses a proper good clean inside and out. Also add some defining black lines.
I have removed the lights and added heat to the edges but the lenses don't want to budge. could be that I've not added enough heat but I'd like to know if anyone has done it? And how it was done, incase i'm going about it totally wrong.
thanks
Liam

Re: [Mk2] [Generic] taking rear lights apart?
People have put them on an open oven door, on a low heat. Watch closely to prevent melting.
Basically heat it till the glue goes soft and separate the lenses.
Done this on a few cars over the years. Warm slowly and don't use a metal tool to pry the lenses out.
Never tried it on rev1 lights.

Hammered the heat on one after posting this. No movement. Might give the oven a go. It's a job I've done before on fords and it was easy. These have some mad sticky stuff whatever it is
