easy to remove?

This kind of post is going to happen often until i learn so bare with me.

As I've got some time I'm looking to do some "free" sprucing up. Saving for parts so I'd like to get cracking with elbow grease only parts for now.

looking to remove this part. As you can see I've already been at it with the wire wheel but i'd rather get it off and do a good proper clean up. Is it easily removable? will it go back on easily? what is it called? I don't want to remove it then be stuck with it off for longer than necessary

This is up there with the most mind melting stuff I've ever seen. The printer at work is going to get hammered enough bedtime reading for a while

Are either engines in this guide similar to the 3S-GE? As i believe that's the engine I have.
