On a JDM (import that is) the MK2 was fittted with retracting mirrors that folded back on mirror control switch, the UK version just has L-R on the same switch.

The clip is the one at the bottom of the housing that keeps it in place in the door card. These are notorious for snapping off but some double sided tape or foam easily fixes the issue.

mines an import and doesn't have the retractable mirrors. think its same as UK one. but i was only interested as one of the clips has snapped on mine. may just try what you suggest with the double sided tape
