Hi guys
Got my eyes on some 16x8 wheels. Unsure of tyre size. Seen so many numbers that's all I see in my sleep
From what iv seen 225/45/16 fronts and 245/45/16 rears?

Also there's limited choice in these sizes. Are there any other sizes that suit?

Re: [Mk2] [Generic] 16x8 square tyre size help (I have searched!)
On my 16x8s I currently have 205/45 front and 225/50 rear. Rears are nice and chunky just how I like them, but I previously fitted 225/45 on the rear which were perfect too.
Fronts I would ideally like something wider, like a 215, as it's a bit of a stretch - but again perfectly fine.[/list]

Okay,
This is a front, with 205/45. Recently jacked up so riding a little higher than normal - but you can see the rim of the wheel is quite exposed due to the slight stretch on the tyre. Ideally I'd go wider than this.
This is an old rear 225/45:
This is my new rear 225/50 which fills the arches a little better:
And this is 205/45 and 225/50 together, how it's sitting now:
You do have to consider the offset of your wheels also when fitting wide tyres. Personally, I think 245 would be too wide for the rears on mine due to how flush they are with the arch.

Spot on mate thanks for that. Like the colour on your wheels against red
Looking at yours I think 245 might be a bit wide. Might stick with 225/205
My wheels will be negative offset and custom arches

I have 16x7.5J square setup, with 15mm spacers on the rear. I'm running AD08Rs all round with 205/45/16 front and 225/45/16 rear:
They look and perform spot-on. (None of this "tractor-look" oversized profile rears for me)
225/45/16 front and 245/45/16 will be fine too. 245 was a fraction too wide for my 7.5Js but should be ok on your 8Js.

I have 245's on an 8J on the back of mine. On 17's though, so it's a 245/45R17. offset ET31 -
Re: [Mk2] [Generic] 16x8 square tyre size help (I have searched!)
I used to run 245/35/17 on 17x8J... they're near perfect rolling radius compare to stock tyres and sat very nicely
Re: [Mk2] [Generic] 16x8 square tyre size help (I have searched!)
I had 235/40 before on there which was better size wise IMO, but I couldn't get the tyre I wanted in that size
The previous 235 was a bit xxxxx from trackday usage
