Well looks like once the car is finished it will be on sale. New owner would need to keep the wheels clean. :(

Oh dear, that's sad :(

Not suitable as a family car of course, now you have your little person

Will be a nice purchase for some lucky enthusiast :thumleft:

And another little one on the way :thumleft:

If I can get the car fixed in the coming few weeks I could at least drive it this summer.

I hope you do get to enjoy driving the car before it goes on sale Imran

Your family comes first of course

Far more important than any car :thumleft:

thanks Chris.

more update:

Received a package yesterday from Thailand:

Image

It was aluminium alloy rings 60.1mm. to 54.1mm. This is the second set I purchased, the first was from a local store. The plastic type but they did not fit flush. So was told to get custom ones made by many companies but that would have cost about £30 a set.

Then found these in Thailand for under £10, and they are a perfect fit - result:

Hi all, no update on the engine rebuild but new arrival was born on Christmas day morning. All is well and wife and baby came home the next day.

Thank you all for the kind comments :thumleft:

Now back to the build:

Progress on the car is being made. Quite a lot has happened the last few weeks.

Engine is in the car:

All pipes checked along with clips and replaced where needed:

Cam covers sprayed, lettering and final spray needed:

Both rear bearings replaced:

New battery, was moved to the front by last owner but I decided to move it back to original place:

Thanks Lauren

The paint colour took plenty of time to get right. I notice on the supercharger the cam covers had a goldish tint to it. After comparing many pictures decided to go with silver and 30% gold mix.

Some small jobs now complete:

Positive and - terminal covers on:

Did not realise the state of the HT leads, but Peter managed to get them looking red:

Image

New wheel nuts, decided to go with chrome:

Wheels are on, but not sure about them. Will have to wait till its on the ground. I am liking the standard look more and do have a set of teardrops but they are in need of a refurb. I think I am getting old.

I think a set of JDM wheels is just the ticket, certainly works on my AE86, so nothing wrong with that I think. :+:

What are the tyre choices in 195/50/15's these days? I will need a new set at some point for my AE86, but I don't want Toyo's. It's a bit of a pain as tyre choices are so limited in what are small wheel sizes these days. :(

Looks really good Imran, looking forward to seeing this back on the road!

I always liked the standard teardrops, but those wheels you have are rather tasty. Here's a bit of a comparison (and inspiration :D )
