it'll be a rotary cam selector, that turns the fore/aft movement at the shifter into the typical front/back/side/side motion at the gearbox end
like that.
Ikeya Formula(super high quality, expensive japanese parts) make them for nissan RWD boxes
I'd be interested to see how it mounts on the gearbox though, as it's obviously still cable operated from the cabin
