Re: 1000hp engine...
Is there any evidence that this guy ever lied about his builds? I know he allegedly forged a timeslip and that was the reason for his ban, but does that actually translate to him consistently selling naff engines for £20k? I'd have thought there would have been some serious comeuppances by now but he seems to have been in business for a long time.

Something i wonder from time to time. Too many horror stories first hand to trust anything he's built though. Remember him trying to pass off the rev1 as a rev5? Dodgy is as dodgy does....
Re: 1000hp engine...
it wasn't just that, he was threatening other members with violence too
besides, it states 1000hp "with supporting mods"

True stories about the guy.
1. This guy is a complete idiot. tried to pass off a REV1 Red na auto as a REV5 turbo not long ago. He bought the shell off a guy i know who stripped MR2's. Due to being imported late DVLA gave it a W Reg plate. So he put a rev 5 tubby engine in it, body kit and resprayed it white.
Even AFTER i told him i knew it was a REV1 NA Auto as i stripped the car to a shell he STILL said it was a REV5 LOL This was also AFTER i supplied photos of the REV1 with the same number plate on. Im sure the full details are on here somewhere.
2. Had a guys car to do a big power build on it, after 3months of chasing the guy was told that Mr Xxxx needed more money to complete build blah blah blah then he was told his car had been robbed from his unit but no police records. Resulted in guy finding out where Xxxx lived and had a visit from him and 2 other big lads. Funny his car appeared the next day and full refund.
So apart from his faked times slips he fakes REV5's and tries to do customers over. So yeah a well Trusted man
Re: 1000hp engine...
I have seen one of his "built" cars that was meant to be circa 500hp... Deary me...
The wiring, the welding, the components, everything... It was a hound of a car!! The owner paid him a lot of money (well in to 5 figures!) as it had an attractive for sale ad online quoting big numbers and top brands / components etc.
The reality was somewhat different after it broke down several times.

Re: 1000hp engine...
It wouldn't be so bad if he put some supporting data/evidence to back up his claim.
How about a dyno figure or something.
Thats just remind me, similar chap to this on a MG forum claimed to be a master car restorer and performance engine builder, did a forum member over for about 7grand.
Anyhoo a forum member looked it over fortunately, car was a total mess/dog and also a potential death trap.
As for the engine build/mods
Just for starters, his porting of the head/manifold etc involved him rubbing away the carbo deposits from the exhaust manifold with a piece of sandpaper for the 1st visible inch or so
He was taken to court and hung out to dry with all the supporting evidence provided.
