My previous car was a 2.5L Z4 which allowed me to make some money when buying the MR2.

With this money I wanted to ensure important parts of the car were sound, which include the engine, and of course the tyres.

Upon buying the car the tyres were 10 years old and were severely cracked, so as Mike Brewer would do, I took the p1$$ a bit in hopes to secure the car for under FWWEEE grand, as the great Brewer would say.

Anyway, got up to Micheldever tyre station to replace the old and sorry for themselves tyres for a nice set of Toyo Proxes.

195/55 up front and 225/50 at the rear.

I've always liked Proxes, but they tend to be out my price range when sticking wider wheels on the car, but this time they were spot on!

So, with tyres done, I wanted to perform a general service.

This included some 5w-40 Castrol Edge fully synthetic oil, genuine Toyota oil filter and some NGK iridium one grade cooler spark plugs.

Didn't really need one grade cooler spark plugs, but thought they would come in handy for when I up the boost later down the line.

The recommended oil is 5w-30 for the turbo, however with an older engine, colder conditions than Japan and the fact these cars can get quite toasty, I went for a slightly different spec:

With gearbox oil in the near future, I thought I would start to replace some of the fun stuff.

The first mod was a Blitz SUS induction kit, purchased from the below link:

Bit pricey, but totally worth it for the sound.

*don't hate me*

Awesome induction kit.

Really opens up the induction sound of a turbo'd car.

Excellent.

Lastly, the ignition barrel was next as the key needed a little fiddling to turn, and with the key being okay in the rest of the locks I came to the conclusion that it was the ignition barrel.
