Stopping overboost on corner exit

Post by CalMac »

I've got a Blitz Dual SBC, boost set to 1.1 bar. I've been noticing recently as I'm pushing the car harder that when exiting a corner and putting my foot down the tyres are momentarily losing traction and so the boost controller thinks the turbo is overboosting (it may well be, but it's obviously not under load at that point) and keeps flashing red, limiting boost. Once I have traction it's fine and boosts as normal, but I want to be able to power through the loss of traction a bit as I keep getting a very small amount of lag out of tight bends and it's really annoying, especially when I'm just starting to warm up the AD08's

Is there any way to change the overboost cut-off level so it doesn't do this?

Yes in the warning settings.

The engine must be under load to produce boost, so it cannot 'not' be under load when this warning is happening.

Yeah sorry I figured just because the tyres are spinning that the overboosting hopefully shouldn't be doing any harm, or is this not the case? It's a bit of a flaw if this happens with all turbo cars :-k

Any idea how to adjust the max boost cut off on a dual SBC? I haven't got a manual for it

You shouldn't overboost when spinning up to be fair.

Plenty of manuals online, quick Google should point you to plenty of guides and official manuals.

From memory you just need to turn the dial round to 'warn', either press or hold the same button then up it from there with the other button.

This is assuming you have one of the oldish style blitz ebcs.

You could by a controller with throttle position or rpm boost (selling one now plug plug) or just take it a bit easier mate with the right pedal exiting a corner .. looks slow drive fast .. the quotes something like that lol
