You want to join those 2 hoses you have bolts in.

Find a length of hose and join them.

The top hose I believe is the vac line to the tank, the tank needs to breath, by blocking you are going to create more and more pressure in the tank, to the point you may not be able to open the fuel cap!

The bottom hose goes to atmos from what the canister releases.

So by joining you are relieving pressure in the tank and it's being released via the bottom pipe.

I was asking Peter G about this in his workshop.. By rights I think you are not supposed to vent to atmosphere, which is why the charcoal canister is there? Like petrol stations now have to send the fumes back in the tankers rather than using the big pipes and chuff it out in the air. But the charcoal canister is not a requirement for M.O.T so who is ever going to know... I`ve just left mine in. Any performance benefits? Very slight weight saving I doubt it weighs much?

I've done the same to mine. It just helps to tidy up the engine bay a little bit. No performance gains and maybe saves a couple of kg's.

Mine must be all clogged up because my tank doesn't seem to vent anywhere. It's sometimes hard to get the filler cap off when it's warm - lots of pressure. I might ask Peter to get rid while it's with him.
