Sleigh bell type noise from engine bay

Post by steve m brown »

Today my MR2 Turbo started making a noise like distant sleigh bells. Not exhaust, coming from engine bay drivers side ](*,) any ideas guys? Does it both when driven and parked up.

Take the covers off and check your cam belt, may well be a pulley bearing has gone.
Do not drive it till it is sorted or you may end up with bigger problems

Drivers side is where the belts, pulleys, tensioners, alternator, pumps, etc. are. Has it been out in the rain? it may be that you've gotten rain water in there, I'd wait until it dries out and see if the noise is still there.
