Are they strapped onto the coilover...? Is that an okay thing to do?

There fixed to the body

There just held out the way on the coilover but ive used p-clips to hold them so the line isnt on the strut itself

Done it many times before and know many others who have also :)

well the decision was made to keep this car a non turbo and buy something else for a weekend toy, this will be my daily drive

so i decided to tidy up the engine bay as was really tatty looking

started with this

Image

started the strip down

Image

decided i was going to remove the egr but while doing so snapped the bottom stud that held it on so rather than messing around trying to extract the stud i got the hole alloy welded

Image

and done

Image

i then removed the plugs and found out instantly why it was missfiring just before i took it off the road lol

Image

the oil is from me blowing the rocker out with airline it blew in they were dry when i took the rocker off lol

anyway i was going to at first paint it all black and silver but then decided i wanted to polish a few bits so it began

first off i painted the rocker and throttle body satin black
etch priming it all first

Image
Image
Image
Image

then went to toyota and ordered a full set of gaskets needed

Image

i also bought an acis spacer and a race icon piggyback chip to try and get a little extra from it lol

Image
Image

on the inlet i decided to blank off the breather as ive changed the rocker 1 to a an8 fitting to plumb in my catch can this was the result

Image

as you can see looked an eyesore so i ground it all back before polishing but went through the weld lol

Image

i carried on with the polishing and got everything to this point

Image
Image

all done by hand took 61 hours of sanding lol and my fingers are quite sore :(

not wanting to waste my time polishing what wasnt seen i painted the rest black

Image
Image
Image

and the whole thing back together, got to polish it with the buffing wheel yet so hopefully will have a mirror finish but im happy with it as is :)

Image
Image
Image

also bought a few little touches to tart the bay up along with this main feature

Image
Image
Image
Image
Image
Image
Image

also swapped the brake vac hoses for braided

Image

excuse the toothbrush its purely for cleaning only of car parts not teeth lol

my inlet egr blank arrived today too which will also be polished and then i can put it all back together :)

Image

all the brackets for the inlet were also powder coated satin black and all hoses/ vac lines will be swapped for new black silicone 1's :D

What a beautiful ar$e! 8-[

Is that a Seibon carbon bonnet? 2GR is megabucks! A nice rev3 turbo motor or 3VZ in there would be right at home!

I reckon it's only a matter of time.....

Thanks mate

Bonnet was from epr after waiting 13 weeks to get 1 from carbenfiber creations it came smashed, so i gave up and now am having to chase for my money back

I likely will do a rev3 turbo swap when i find a decent un touched engine to build from :p

Damn, that sucks mate :(

My Border bonnet is from EPR, and the fitment is spot on. I wanna see this car with a turbo engine. Will certainly complete the package. Still salivating over the Ganador mirrors. I've had 2 sets now, and kicking myself for selling them.
