Got a rev 5 that cranks and fires for less than a second and dies.
Cant hear the fuel pump priming when turning the key to the ON position.
Have tried to start with the fuel pump forced on through the diagnostic port. Can hear the pump when this is done, but still the same problem.
Any ideas?
Thanks.

Sounds like an issue with the transponder immobiliser.
Re: [Mk2] [NA] Rev 5 Doesn't start
This is a car I bought at an auction without keys.
I've got a spare key made without the transponder chip. But as the immobilizer in these are connected to the starter, I grounded the starter permanently and the starter worked.
Does the immobilizer affect the fuel system in any way?

Will this still work without the transponder key? The one I've got cut is just a metal blade key.
If its too much hassle, I wont bother as I'm looking to put my rev 1 turbo engine into it.
