Best price on polyurethane bush kits

Post by JD »

I just need the rear at the minute. I can't be bothered to polybush the front yet because I'm lazy - but since I'm taking much of the rear suspension apart anyway I figured I may aswell replace my crappy, cracked, spongy, old, decrepit rubber bushes with something new and firm. It doesn't need to be the super-hard track weapon stuff, just the bog standard version.

Also, should I just blowtorch the old ones out?

The Prothane kits that Peter (SBITS) supplies are top quality and a lot cheaper than powerflex, etc.
I fitted a full set and can definitely recommend them. Really firms up the car nicely :thumleft:

LOL @ Lazy, you know the rear ones are the more time consuming? Rear bolts can be a PITA to get out.

I just used a hot air gun to mine out.

Well, it's a necessity for me to drop the rear subframe anyway right now so you're right about those bolts, but they have to be done anyway. The ones that won't budge have had a good soaking with penetrating oil and I have an impact wrench to get them off as well. I've got a heat gun and blowtorch if necessary as well.

A little late I know but another vote for Prothane and again for Peter supplying them.

Did mine when I did the V6 swap a couple of years ago, sooo glad I did it, makes the world of difference.

Grease?

Post by sky-net »

Copper or lithium grease? Wich one do you use?
I can't find prothane grease at EBay shipped from UK no more... So i'm looking for alternatives.
