2GR-FE too cheap surely?!

Just spotted on Ebay. £1800 for a brand new 2GR??

I know there's a lot of work to drop it in the MR2 but I thought they went for about this price once salvaged from an RX350 :-k

It's the bare engine only, by time you add all the ancillaries the cost will increase a lot. I wonder how much an ECU for one of these is, for example?

Very true.

Maybe cheaper to run a standalone aftermarket ECU and go from there?

It does say they've got parts available though, I imagine alternator would be £200 odd.

It all adds up very quickly. How much are the intake and exhaust manifolds? Wiring loom? Even going standalone you're looking at quite a chunk of money as it's a 6cyl with dual VVT-i.

I just bought a complete 2gr-fe from this very company in brand new condition, guessing delivery miles on it for £300. The engine is from the Lotus Evora too :D

Ebay bargain of the century :thumleft:

It had been partially dismantled for development work and even came with a brand new Toyota gasket set valued at £600.... epic win.
