Wheel fitment advice

Post by Leemeg99 »

hi i have been offered a set of alloys, were on a honda.
they are 225 x 45 18 ET35
would they fit on a mk2 Mr2. if so would it be straight forward or would mods be required

What is the PCD of the wheels, they need to be 5x114.3 to fit an MR2.

225x45 are the tyre sizes. What are the wheel widths and are they staggered front and rear? Once you know the widths put the sizes into here http://mr2.gordaen.com/wt_calc.php

I agree with Nic but would also add that 18s with a 225 tyres will probably foul your steering and would only really fit the fronts with coilies. That is unless you extended the arches and fitted spacers.

I'd watch the centre bore... the 60.1mm on the SW20 is on the small side (making it easy to get spigot rings to adapt most wheels) but some hondas had 54mm IIRC, so it's possible a an OEM honda wheel would fail to sit on the MR2's bore.
