Higher (than 440cc) injectors from other cars?

Post by GreddyMR2 »

Hi there,

appearantly my 440cc injectors are too small and I am urgently looking for some bigger ones.
The problem is that I am in Lithuania and to find some 3sgte injectors that would fit rev1 turbo fuel rail, is impossible.

So does anyone know if there is possibility to fit bigger injectors from other cars?

Thanks

Rev3-5 MR2 Turbo injectors are a straight swap for Rev1-2 injectors.

Make sure you bore that stock rail out or replace it.

Do you mean I need to bore rev1 fuel rail when fitting rev3+ injectors?

Correct. Rev1/2 rail is 5mm bore. Rev3 is 8mm to flow more fuel.

Line boring fuel rails is very tricky. Needs boring from one end to the other.

You can get them from ATS Racing.

I have a bored out rail here. Sky-net says he wants it. PM him and check if he is definitely buying it from me.

If not i can despatch to you on Monday. I also have Rev3 injectors.

Luckily I got rev3 fuel rail abd injectors in Lithuania.

Now I have a couple of questions.

What should I modify to rev3 fuel rail to fit to rev1?

If it's too difficult, maybe I can just fit injectors to my fuel rail without boring it?
Or is it a must to bore my fuel rail?

I will be running around 1 - 1.1 bar with a hybrid ct20.

Change it. It can't be made to fit.

Not a must, but you're increasing from a designed 10psi of boost to 16psi. That's a 60% increase.

Toyota incresed rail bore from 5mm to 8mm on just a 2psi increase. Go figure...

What do you mean by saying change it? Do you mean rev3 rail can't be fitted to rev1?

Ok, I suppose I will not risk and get the rail rebored.

Thank you Peter for a fast answer!
