Mines not the supreme example seen on the other thread, my restoration seems mundane in comparison, but nevertheless here goes.

I'm going to add pictures to this threat and if possible could you lovely forum members tell me where the part fits to or how to fit it.

The sensor belongs on the inside of the engine lid. From memory it'll be 2x 15 or 20mm m8 bolts to fit.

The plastic trim is plastiwelded at the factory they often fail i personally use heavy duty velcro to reattach them meanimeaning they can be removed again in the future

It's a temperature sensor used to control the engine bay fan on the offside of the engine bay.

That way the fan only runs when the engine bay reaches a certain temperature. If you disconnect it, the fan runs all the time.
