Recommendations for exhaust heat shield paint

Post by CalMac »

I used some HT red wrinkle paint (177°C) left over from painting a friend's DC2 rocker cover, thinking it would be sufficient. It turned black after 2 hours..

Most people seem to suggest stove paint would be ideal - but has anyone had experience with a particular brand etc.? I'd like it to be red spray paint ideally. No idea what temp a turbo heat shield would be reaching - 350°C?

I used rustoleum BBQ paint in silver on mine. It is still going strong.
