MR2 Mk2 Specialists lancashire

Post by philsew »

Hi,

Does anyone know any MK2 specialists in Lancashire, preferably nearer Preston because my MK2 doesn't handle well and the steering intermittently shakes between 60 and 70mph. I've had tracking and balancing done and the wheels are true but it still continues to be very twitchy.

Cheers
Phil

Not able to direct you to a specialist (sure someone can), but how are your suspension components?

What was the cause of this?
My 2 does this occasionally, i think its down to the 17" rims, as it seems worse on certain roads.

I have never had a car before do this though, it shakes something terrible just like as if the tyres are out of balance something chronic.

But the wheels have been balanced recently and some times it drives with no wobble/shake? :?: :? really odd.

Checked your spigot rings in your alloys? Mine does this and it's down to the cheap plastic spigots..

current Bk racing alloys are on cheapo plastic spigot rings so may well be.
I seem to remember someone on here saying that plastic spigot rings were alright, but i wouldnt be at all surprised if your right.

Think I am! I need to change mine, but the plastic ones are crap. Get a decent set of Alloy ones for £20 odd and you should see it sorted. or try some stock rims if you have any!
