CT20b screamer pipe

Post by em1_matt »

I know this gets covered by no doubt a select few numptys that ask this question.

However I get the serious horn for the noise of a screamer pipe. My current turbo on my Rev3 GTS is spot on, in perfect condition, however I want the noise.

What is thre best way to go about this. I know I need an externally gated turbo which the CT20 is not so would need welding up. is this a waste of a fantastic condition turbo.

I will be intending on getting an uprated Intercooler or a charge cooler setup and only slightly upping the boost.

What are people recomendations to me.

I recommend you leave it alone. I've been down the route of external wastegate on the CT20b - it was a very expensive experiment which I have now abandoned.

If you absolutely must have a screamer pipe (which will make track days tricky due to noise) then the solution would be to swap the turbo entirely.

That's for the reply.

I thought this would be he case. Plus I don't really want to sacrifice the acuity to do track days.

Thanks Matt
