hi guys just thought i would post some pics of my custom pods ive been making for the mk2 as i struggled to get hold of any as were all lhd i thought i would start making them and currently awaiting the first molds of them
first is a 2 x 52mm steering cowl pod
started with these
and finally finished
and this is my second design
and how it sits right now
thanks bud got a few more designs and variations of gauge size 52mm and 60mm of all then hopefully will have mold's made of the and start putting them up for sale
looks good man, your second design is cool, there is a company who do them already, i was gonna buy one from them but if you're doing these in the next few months i'll hang off and buy one from you
good stuff mate
my mate who works in fibreglass moldings is going to try a mold of 1 once i get it to him as with having thin small pieces to it may be a challenge and may have to just mold the top part to bond on to the original panel
but either way will have something put together in the next 3-4 weeks
I'd be interest in the second design too! I had contemplated doing this with some of the useless space on the dash but I neither the time, skill or patience to do it
Looks really good, hopefully the moulds can be done
again thanks
and weather its made as an add on pod or a full unit i will do my best to make something to get these available in rhd
here is some pics with gauges to show fitment
Can you show a driver's position pic with the steering cowl in place?
Interested to see how much of the instrument cluster can still be seen with it fitted.

That looks awesome, far better than one in the center, instrument cluster is way more visible than i thought, you could even make 45mm ones which would show more of the cluster if required, absolutely spot on effort man
