which exhaust for deep but smooth sound please?

Post by drunknmunky »

ok people,
sure this has been asked before but can't find it in search so,

my rev5 n/a has just started blowing from somewhere near the join of cat to back box, so figuring its a good time to tell the Mrs that it needs replacing :) but I don't want a raspy sound often found with big exhausts.

which one/s? will give a nice smooth but still deep tone please?
also, really don't want the hassle of refitting the cat for every mot so want to leave a cat in there.

Many thanks

Andy

Not sure how they compare in terms of budget, but a Japspeed with a cat left in place shouldn't be too bad. Mongoose is probably better quality though.

from what I've read on here you can't have a cat with a japspeed, the inlet pipe for the japspeed back box enters the car in the middle, not by the nearside, not leaving any room for the cat to be in there?

I have a Mongoose with a decat on a 3SFE , it has a deep purring zip, not a booming boy racer sound.

people can hear me for miles in country roads, but it is quiet here and lots of rally cars so not uncommon.

It is smooth and sharp, with a deep zip.

More tuned than loud.
