We're not looking at a cheap chinese import set here - they are 100% manufactured in the UK

They may be put together in the UK but I would not say the hose and fittings are made here.

Their website states that all components are made in house, in the UK:

http://www.helperformance.com/manufacturing.html

"HEL Performance are very proud of the fact that all of our brake line components are made in Britain, including all of our stainless steel braided brake hose and all of our stainless steel brake line fittings. Indeed we are the only company in the UK to manufacture all of our mainline fittings in-house on our own Star Micronics CNC Machines. Whilst others may prefer to buy their fittings and hose from a third party and simply assemble and brand in house, HEL Performance have always striven towards self-sufficiency, guaranteeing supply times, quality and overall finish to our parts. The image opposite shows one of our stainless steel banjos machined and rumbled in-house."

So if they can make all the parts in house why are 6 or 8 brackets missing from the hoses?

I don't know, feel free to pop them an email.

They come with the grommits for attaching to the strut, it's just those brackets that I need to make.

I think they are missing the rear bracket to steel brake line, the front mounting to steel brake line and the steel bracket in the middle that holds them in the strut

Yeah and they're made out of plastic and have a nasty habit of snapping when you put the clips into them. Whoever decided to save a few pence and make those ferrules/grommets out of plastic should be sacked.......IMO

I've bought a set of Goodridge hoses and just about to swap out my HEL ones.

As a by side question, do braided hoses actually make that much difference to brake feel and performance? But to the op, seems to me like you made your mind up on price alone, to me I'd rather buy the best there is, when it comes to stopping quickly from 120+ mph, I'd want to know that they are definitely not going to fail! I believe goodridge supply wrc teams, that would be good enough for me! That said, everyone is free to make there own informed choices, best of luck making the brackets.

Never had a problem with HEL lines on my others cars or Bike.
In the case of the Mr2 I think the Goodrich is worth the extra with all the brackets.

But in terms of performance of the line, I can't see HEL being inferior in anyway.
