Break Discs/Pads

Post by MR2daron »

I looked via the search thing and couldn't find anything... so sorry if its a re-post.

I just wondered if there was a particular brand disc that is recommended for mr2's and whether the best option is to go for grooved or drilled or both?? or even standards (currently have standard on)

i also have Green Stuff pads, are there better pads for similar money?

Matter of taste really, I'd go with the cross drilled and grooved personally.

Green stuff pads are good fot the money, you could use mintex, I think they're similar in price, dust free too ima.

stock discs are probably your best bet.

grooved discs will simply eat through your pads quicker. Drilled discs don't suffer this problem but some are weaker than others due to the holes.

brake pads: Pagid or mintex. EBC are okay though aren't too clever when they are cold.

i dont agree with you lauren.i have grooved discs on the front and am using greenstuff.i dont get any worse braking due to cold, only better when hot.that is the green stuff is as good as standard or slightly better cold but noticably better when hot.i dont think the wear is really that bad either.an added bonus is the lack of dust.

I do have greenstuff on my car. I guess i didn't phrase it correctly. I agree they do work fine when cold, but what i meant is that there isn't much feel when they are cold.
