[Mk2] [Turbo] Fitting bigger injectors (rev3)

Post by JAAASH »

I've bought some 850cc blitz side feed injectors (2nd hand) and I'm just after a bit of info for whats needed to fit them.

I know these will drop straight into my rev3 rail. What I'm unsure of is what extra hardware I'll need. I've had a search and checked out the bgb and from what I can see, it's 2 o-rings and an insulator.

Looking at the 850's I've just bought, they seem to have 4 o-rings.
1 at the top
3 at the bottom (where the insulator should be?)

Hopefully the picture below describes it better

Can anybody offer some advice on what I'm missing or have extra?

Upgrading all my fuel system over the next few months so want to make sure I've got everything ready for minimal hold ups :)

Thanks in advance for any help :thumleft:

you will need a re-mappable ecu and if you're doing the entire fuel system then i would get a bigger pump 255 or 305lph.

Don't worry, that's all in the pipeline

Already got Walbro 255 pump, HKS fpr and Fuelab filter. Tank is out, ready for fitment of pump this weekend. Replacing all the lines for braided hose with -6 AN fittings.
Ecu will hopefully be sorted towards the end of the year. Going for a Link G4 Storm.

Just need to know what I'll need to get these injectors back in the rail once they are back from cleaning and flow matching.

Hey Jim, thanks for that.
Still a bit confused though as your injectors look a lot different to mine.

Also just realised that my injectors are also 850's not 800's like I initially posted. So might help if im searching for the right thing

Done a bit more searching.
Worked out that mine are missing the little filter part, which is why they look so different

This is all entirely new to me so I'm just learning as I go. O:)

Found a rebuild kit that includes the filter HERE
Also found a collar kit HERE

One step closer \:D/

What you have there are i think RX7 injectors and need collars to fit MR2 fuel rail.

Fitting a whole bunch of O rings is a complete bodge.

Ok, cheers Peter. I believe the collars I linked in my above post are the correct ones.

I guessed as much with all the o-rings. That's just how they arrived. Got them from a member on mr2oc.com

My injectors are the rx7 and the collars are what you see on mine.

They probably will look the same once you get the filter thing on there?

Pretty much the same I reckon, other than the top where yours have 2 large o-rings and mine only has 1.

I'll get the new filter and collars ordered and report back when it all arrives :)

Yours has space for an oring in the same place.
It just didn't come with any is all.

They are the exact same injector I'm sure.

Hi Josh, those are 850cc rx7 injectors - exactly the same as I have - although mine were boxed and sold branded as Sard - as per my p.m's at the weekend you definitely want to get the adapter kit for these.
You will also need to do a minor mod. to the injector harness clips to make them fit onto the injectors.

Hi Martin, thanks for the info, and for the help on the weekend.
I've ordered the collars so they should be with me in a couple of weeks :thumleft:
