[Mk2] [NA] Air bag warning light

My wife's 1999 Toyota Mr2 Mk2 has an advisory on her MOT yesterday reference the SRS (Airbag light) On My car I have one that comes on with the ignition to test that and other features on the car. They go off after a few seconds. My wife says that she has never seen an SRS warning light on switch on, nor does there seem to be any indication of one in the owners manual. The car has got airbags fitted. If it has a light, where is its location?? Thanks Bill W.

There aren't any pics of the rev5/6[1999?] dash warning lights in the sticky thread & you don't say what rev yours is but if yours has the warning light it might be in the same place on hers.
It's not difficult to take the cluster out and remove the bulbs from the back then by shining a torch through you can see what there actually is.
If it's there but not illuminating then you need a new bulb, if it's not there well that's why it doesn't show up and the MOT man has got his wires crossed.

Is it a UK car with only the steering wheel airbag? If so then there isn't an airbag light because the airbag is mechanical and uses and impact sensing firing pin to deploy instead of electrical sensors. So if the garage have just advised that it didn't come on then they're wrong as there is no light to show up, if your wife says she's never seen one then I suspect this is the case.

As has been correctly pointed out, the UK cars with a steering wheel airbag fitted DO NOT have a warning light as it's mechanical.

My Rev5 does not have a light, something that came in handy when I changed the steering wheel for an aftermarket one
